Can force majeure be used for Covid-19?

Force Majeure allows for parties to the contract to suspend or stop their obligations for a period of time as stipulated within the contract in response to a certain act, event, or circumstance beyond their control.

This clause has been used in times such as the COVID pandemic and is more relevant than ever. In event of an uncontrollable force or as the French say a “superior force”, day-to-day operations may be ceased to a halt.

Force Majeure clauses are crucial to any contract and should not be overlooked.
